Stops pop-ups, banners, inline text ads, flash ads, flying ads, etc. from showing up during your browsing sessions. Works as an extension for Google Chrome.
This utility was created for people who use Google Chrome on a daily basis and wish to block ads while browsing the web. The application takes a very small amount of time to be installed, features easy-to-configure settings, and is localized in multiple languages.
Once you install it in Google Chrome and start visiting websites of your interest, you will notice that the Adblock Pro icon (from the browser's toolbar) changes every time it blocks an ad on the page you access. You can also right-click the app's icon and select the "Block Element" option if you want the program to prevent a certain component from a website.
The Options panel will give you access to additional privacy settings. You can add as many items as you like in the Whitelist window, prevent WebRTC from leaking your local IP address, block media elements larger than x MB, etc.
However, according to many reviews that were left by users on its homepage, the program is actually a uBlock Origin rip-off. It also brings user tracking capabilities.
Personally, I prefer to continue using uBlock Origin in my default web browser as it's more reliable and safe to work with. Adblock Pro has been flagged by too many of its users due to tracking issues.
